We need elected officials who will stand for the most vulnerable people in our State; the children. When elected, Deb will actively support the initiative that would use a portion of the Land Grant Permanent Fund to ensure early childhood programs are properly funded, among other important pieces of legislation to get our schools back on track. Johnson's group Our America Initiative announced in 2015 that it supported a Mississippi advocacy group's effort to place "childhood vaccination decisions into the hands of parents and doctors."

In October 2014, Johnson said that marijuana has "efficacy in regard to treating Ebola." He later clarified that he meant additional research should be conducted to determine the potential curative effects of the drug for Ebola patients. An insurance policy issued, renewed, amended, or continued in this state shall provide coverage for embryo, oocyte, and sperm cryopreservation procedures, for an insured who is at least eighteen years of age and has been diagnosed with cancer but has not started cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, biotherapy, or radiation therapy treatment.
The coverage required under this section shall include expenses for evaluations, laboratory assessments, medications, and treatments associated with the embryo, oocyte, and sperm cryopreservation procedures but shall not include costs for initial or annual storage of embryos, oocytes, or sperm.

Luther Strange: Don't require contraception in company health plans

On March 22, 2012, Strange filed a motion with the US District Court in Birmingham, Alabama to become co-plaintiff alongside EWTN Global Catholic Television Network in its existing suit against the federal government for requiring employers to provide contraception coverage in their businesses' healthcare plans. The organization's file claim was that the mandate violates the convictions of religious employers, and Strange agreed, citing his statutory responsibilities to protect the missions of Alabama charitable institutions against this "interfering" federal regulation. He pledged to throw the weight of the office behind EWTN, which Strange said is "the largest religious media network in the world." On $15,000 in unpaid nanny taxes. In reference to the unpaid nanny taxes Mulvaney said, "In 2000, we had triplets. When they came home, we hired someone to help my wife take care of the children. In our minds, she was a babysitter. She did not live with us. She did not spend the night there. She did not cook. She did not clean. She did not educate the children, she helped my wife with the kids." He said he took action to repay those taxes when he discovered the error during the transition.
