Kirsten Gillibrand: Opposes boycotts of businesses in Israel

Gillibrand criticized the call from the UN Human Rights Council's special rapporteur for a boycott of companies in settlements (and called for his removal), criticized a food-labeling measure by the EU that mandated that products made in the settlements be labeled as such, and worked with Schumer to rebuke the UN Security Council's condemnation of the settlements early this year.

Noam Chomsky: Israel relies on support from reactionary fundamentalists

The New Left in fact was overwhelmingly Zionist but beginning to be mildly critical of some of the policies of the occupation and illegal settlement. It is becoming more and more clear that Israel is losing control over liberal public opinion and is compelled to rely for support on the most reactionary elements and the fundamentalist Evangelical movement, which combines fervent support for the most extreme Israeli actions with unparalleled antisemitism.

Noam Chomsky: Establish a nuclear weapons free zone in Middle East

There is a straightforward way to end any imagined Iranian nuclear threat: establish a nuclear weapons-free zone in the Middle East, with adequate inspections. The idea was proposed decades ago by the Arab states. It is strongly supported by Iran but is regularly vetoed by the United States. The reason is it would mean acknowledging the existence of Israel's huge nuclear weapons arsenal -- which would render military aid to Israel illegal under US law.

Tulsi Gabbard: Skeptical of Iran nuclear deal

Gabbard told Fox News she was "cynical" toward the pact and agreed with host Greta van Susteren that it was akin to Neville Chamberlain's infamous Munich agreement with Hitler in 1938. On the day the agreement was finalized, she issued a statement saying, "We cannot afford to make the same mistake with Iran that was made with North Korea," citing North Korea's abrogation of the Agreed Framework agreement it had signed in 1994.

Tulsi Gabbard: Supports Egyptian dictator in fight against terrorism

In November 2015, she traveled to Egypt as part of a congressional delegation and met Egyptian dictator Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. "President el-Sisi has shown great courage and leadership in taking on this extreme Islamist ideology, while also fighting against ISIS militarily to keep them from gaining a foothold in Egypt," Gabbard said, urging US political leaders to "recognize President el-Sisi and his leadership" and "stand with him in this fight against Islamic extremists."

Tulsi Gabbard: Against criticizing India's treatment of Muslims

Gabbard voted against HR 417, which criticized India's record on religious violence and called for specific measures to guarantee religious freedom in the country, explaining that its passage wouldn't help US-India relations. Yet two years later, Gabbard introduced a similar resolution that covered neighboring Muslim-majority Bangladesh, saying she was "particularly concerned over issues of religious freedom, and specifically, attacks against minority Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, and others."
