Andrew Giuliani:
Kneeling during anthem is a war on our police
A diehard Yankees and football Giants fan, Giuliani said he opposed professional players kneeling during the National Anthem to protest police abuse of black citizens, calling it "disappointing" and "very sad."
"They're protesting. This is a war on our police," he said. "Sports is something that's going to bring people together. Unfortunately, now it's become a divisive topic."

Ben Carson:
People can only afford to live in certain places
An Obama-era scheme called Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing barely got underway before President Trump took office. Obama's Department of Housing and Urban Development floated a requirement for "balanced housing" in every suburb. "Balanced"
meant affordable even for people who need federal vouchers. Towns had to make it possible for low-income minorities to choose suburban living and provide "adequate support to make their choices possible."
The real barrier to suburban living is money. Living in the 'burbs isn't cheap. HUD Secretary Ben Carson told a House committee last
May that "people can only afford to live in certain places." It's "not because George Wallace is blocking the door."

Donald Trump:
DC won't become a state because they'd elect Democrats
Trump says Washington, DC, won't ever be a state because Republicans aren't "stupid" enough to add guaranteed Democratic seats in Congress. "DC will never be a state," Trump told The Post. "You mean District of Columbia, a state? Why? So we can have two
more Democratic -- Democrat senators and five more congressmen? No thank you. That'll never happen." The capital city is home to roughly 700,000 people -- more people than Vermont and Wyoming, and nearly as many as Alaska.
DC license plates carry the slogan "Taxation Without Representation" in protest of the lack of seats in Congress. Residents have a non-voting delegate in the House and no senators.
If it were a state, DC would have one House member and two senators. A "Taxation Without Representation" DC license plate adorned Barack Obama's limo during his presidency.

George W. Bush:
Bush calls for constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage
Bush called for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, saying that's the only way to protect "the most fundamental institution of civilization" from activist judges. "If we are to prevent the meaning of marriage from being changed forever,
our nation must enact a constitutional amendment," Bush said. "The union of a man and woman is the most enduring human institution . . . honored and encouraged in all cultures and by every religious faith."
