[During a visit to the wife of Anwar Ibrahim (Ibrahim is the former deputy of Malaysia’s Prime Minister Magathir Mohammed, and was jailed and beaten for opposing official corruption in Malaysia) Vice President Al Gore made] a forceful speech in which he hailed the “brave people” who have rallied behind Ibrahim and invoked the incipient democracy movement’s slogan, “Reformasi.”
