On Immigration: Deal with budget instead of focusing on Syrian refugees

The oil-dependent state is grappling with an estimated budget deficit of $3.5 billion amid low oil prices, and Gov. Bill Walker, a Republican turned independent, "has been focused on solving the state's fiscal challenges," a spokeswoman said by email. She said Walker has not given any consideration to trying to stop Syrian refugees from settling in the state.
