Bruce Braley: Supports comprehensive reform but not amnesty

Braley denied that the Senate immigration bill he supports includes amnesty. The Democrat blamed the border crisis in part on the House's failure to take up the bill that passed the Senate. He noted that Arizona Sen. John McCain and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio supported the measure because it forces people in the country illegally to admit wrongdoing, pay a fine and go to the back of the line. "Amnesty is when you break the law and there are no consequences," said Braley.

Michael Baumgartner: Opposes DREAM Act; reform guest worker criteria

Baumgartner said he opposes legislation providing a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants in the United States, including the DREAM Act, which would give children of illegal immigrants brought into the country by their parents opportunities to receive university scholarships and a path to citizenship. He said he supports reforming guest worker programs to make them friendlier to growers seeking foreign labor for agriculture.

Dino Rossi: Secure the border, then decide on kids of illegal immigrants

Rossi also refused to say whether he favors allowing children of illegal immigrants to remain in the country and start on a path toward citizenship. He said he hasn't heard of a good solution to that issue, and that such questions are moot until the federal government secures the borders.

Murray touted her support for a law that would give such people a chance to be citizens after going to college or joining the military.
