Moulton wants to lower the estate tax exemption to $3 million for individuals and $7 million, from $11.4 million and $22.8 million. Steyer has proposed a 1% tax on the wealthiest 0.1% of Americans. Rep. Sestak advocates raising the estate tax rate to 45% and lowering the exemption to $3.5 million for the 400 wealthiest families in the country.
