Kari Lake on Government Reform

Plenty of evidence why people don't trust our elections

KARI LAKE (R): Well, there's plenty of evidence. We had 740,000 ballots with no chain of custody. Those ballots shouldn't have been counted. There's plenty of evidence. You can find it. Well, I'm happy to send it to your team. The problem is the media won't cover it. The real issue is that the people don't trust our elections.

KATIE HOBBS (D):I think anyone running for office who continues to say there was widespread fraud, they have yet to bring any evidence forward. This is absolutely disqualifying. This is somebody who will have a level of authority over our state's elections, the ability to sign new legislation into law, the responsibility of certifying future elections. This is a basic core of our democracy. She has nothing else to run on.

We have major problems in our election system

I think we have major problems in our election system. We had Democrats saying the 2000 election wasn't fair. They were complaining the 2004 election wasn't fair. 2016, Kamala Harris spoke out and said that the electronic voting machines were hacked in front of her eyes and nobody called them election deniers. And now all of a sudden in 2020, we don't have free speech anymore. We can't speak out against our own elections.

Require voter ID on all ballots

Require voter ID on all ballots. One person, one vote. There is nothing fairer than that, and--despite what the mainstream media says--voter ID requirements are overwhelmingly popular with every single Party and demographic. The only people who don't want to see voter ID implemented are progressive activists and the media.

Take all equipment that uses software out of the counting process. As we have seen in recent weeks if it has software, it can be hacked. Elections are simply too important to take that risk. Using analog optical scanners will be more personnel and time-consuming than using computers--so we pay for the personnel and resources we need. Elections should be followed with regular, highly accurate audits of the results to ensure transparency and bolster public trust.

COVID: Pass law forbidding closing churches

As Americans, we have the freedom to worship where, when, and how we choose. I will work with our legislature to pass a law preventing any government interference of this fundamental liberty under any circumstances. No governor, no Mayor, no board will have the right to shut down religious observances or worship. Ever.
