Rodney Glassman on Social Security

No risky scheme to benefit Wall Street with retirement funds

Social Security and Medicare are promises by the United States that our seniors will be protected, and Rodney is dedicated to ensuring those promises are kept.

John McCain supported privatizing Social Security at a time when Wall Street and the American financial institutions were crumbling. Rodney is committed to protecting the investment that families have made in the Social Security Trust Fund and will never submit to risky schemes to benefit Wall Street while risking taxpayers' retirement funds. He will protect that fund from being used to pay for other government programs. Rodney opposes any tax increase on Social Security benefits.

Reject privatization; don't raise the retirement age.

Glassman signed the Social Security Protectors Pledge

Some 200 Democratic House and Senate candidates have signed on to a pledge rejecting any effort to privatize or scale back Social Security benefits or raise the retirement age. The Progressive Change Campaign Committee sponsored this pledge among Congressional candidates.
