The bulk of Roseanne's speech was about her criticism of "the prison-military-industrial complex" in which drugs are criminalized and corporations profit from the "slave labor" provided by inmates in state-run prisons.
She said that kids from poor families are basically given a choice between war and prison, and that's "not a choice at all." Also, she quipped, "Locking up your own tax base is simply stupid."
