Ammon Bundy: Don't abolish police, but defund bloated police budgets

I do not support defunding the police if you take that to mean abolishing the police. But I admit that have I used that term before because to me, at the time, "defunding the police" simply meant reducing the amount of money spent on law enforcement. And in doing so, reducing their ability and potential to abuse their power. We must have the courage and honesty to recognize that law enforcement itself has become bloated, wasteful, abusive, and in many cases totally corrupt.

Civil Asset Forfeiture is the legal means that gives police officers the license to steal your property during any routine interaction, and gives the police department the ability to keep your property (including cash) for itself. This is an abomination and it has to be stopped. As Governor I will simply put an end to Civil Asset Forfeiture in the State of Idaho. We cannot and will not allow legal plunder in our state.

Ammon Bundy: Restitution rather than imprisonment for non-violent crime

I will implement a system of Restitution and Restoration for non-violent crime. It is simple, if someone steals your iPhone, it must be immediately returned to you along with a judgment in your favor for and additional 20% of the value of it. That's it. It's simple. Restitution and restoration. If you're a victim of a non-violent crime, you get restored, plus 20%.

Ammon Bundy: Police authority is of divine origin as well as Constitution

I recognize the authority of law enforcement to be of divine origin as well as being clearly defined in the Idaho State Constitution. However, this means that I also believe that the purpose, role, and lawful behavior of law enforcement is likewise defined by divine authority and subsequently by the US Constitution and the Idaho State Constitution.

Ed Humphreys: More resources for police; expand prison capacity

Elected officials need to have serious discussions and take action to deliver more resources to law enforcement, including expanding prison capacity and offering tools to tackle corruption in government. I'm calling on all Idahoans to seriously consider if you back the blue. If you do, then I hope to hear solidarity with officers on these issues. We can't say we support them and ignore them. They are the ones who bear the price for our mistakes. God bless our great law enforcement officers.

Janice McGeachin: Family hires former convicts within their businesses

Our family proudly supports the successful workforce re-entry of formerly incarcerated Idahoans by providing them opportunities for gainful employment within our family businesses.
