Eliot Glassheim: Opposes withdrawing American participation in NATO

The Glassheim campaign has been working hard to hammer Hoeven on Donald Trump, the GOP's presumptive presidential nominee and a man Hoeven has said he'll "support" but not endorse. That's politically convenient hair-splitting, according to Glassheim.

"Exactly what part of Donald Trump's agenda does Sen. Hoeven support?" Glassheim said in a prepared statement in May. "Does Sen. Hoeven support lowering wages for working families? Does he support kicking 11 million people out of the country and tearing families apart--families who pay taxes and pay into the Social Security system? Does he support withdrawing American participation in NATO and allowing nuclear weapons to proliferate?"

Hoeven's campaign fired back by pointing out Glassheim would support either Bernie Sanders of Hillary Clinton for president--neither of whom were a presumptive nominee at the time--both of whom oppose fracking and would "weaken our Second Amendment rights."

Katrina Christiansen: We need to say that supporting Ukraine puts America first

North Dakota's Democratic NPL candidate running for U.S. Senate firmly backs U.S. financial and material support for Ukraine. "We need to say that supporting Ukraine puts America first. Russia is counting on America losing interest here. If we fail to support Ukraine, Putin wins," said Christiansen. Christiansen says if Russia wins, then that's also a win for China, Iran, and North Korea. The candidate says she doesn't understand why U.S. support for Ukraine has become a divisive issue.

Rick Becker: Protect farmland from Chinese Communist Party

Q: NATIONAL SECURITY: Which view most closely resembles yours: A) The US should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The US should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The US has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The US should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

A: C) The US has become too involved in others' policies.

Q: The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

A: Strongly Agree. A great example of this is the farmland under attack in North Dakota. There is zero excuse for major corporations to be selling our great farmland to the Chinese Communist Party. It is in our national interest to keep nations that want to see us fail out of our most precious natural resources.
