Joe Sestak:
China is a threat by holding so much of our reserves
China was mentioned as a source of national security concern when the candidates were asked about the nature of the threats facing the US. Sestak replied "It is actually our economic security. China.""They hold so much of our reserves. If they dumped
them on the stock market--imagine what would happen. Remember, it really is a strong economy that undergirds our military. That undergirds our education, that undergirds our health system," said Sestak.
His rival agreed with him on that one.

Josh Shapiro:
As child, started campaign for Soviet Jewish children
As a young boy, Josh learned about Jewish children living in the Soviet Union who weren't free. Josh started an international letter-writing program between American and Soviet children to give the Jewish children in the Soviet Union some hope and raise
awareness about religious persecution. After persistent advocacy, Josh's pen pal, Avi, and his family were able to leave the Soviet Union and travel to America--where Avi attended Josh's Bar Mitzvah before being granted asylum in Israel.
