Chuck Baldwin: Develop exit strategy for phased withdrawal of US troops

Having opposed the war in Iraq from the start, Baldwin favors a phased withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country after first developing an exit strategy--“unlike John McCain who wants to keep us there for a hundred years and unlike Barack Obama, who has given us no concept whatsoever of what he plans to do.”

Craig Bowden: Exit the Mideast & support non-intervention

Q: Do you agree or disagree with the statement, "Avoid foreign entanglements"?

A: Absolutely.

Q: Does that mean you'd exit Iraq? Afghanistan? Yemen? Syria? All of the above and all others?

A: I would exit everything in the Middle East, and start looking at bases in other nations. I believe in non-intervention. While we should have diplomatic channels and trade with everyone, we need to stop being the policeman of the world.

Kamala Harris: Trump does not care about troops' injuries or deaths

HARRIS: There was a counter strike on our troops in Iraq, and they suffered serious brain injuries, and do you know what Donald Trump dismissed them as? Headaches. This is a pattern where he referred to our men who are serving as suckers and losers. Public reporting said Russia had bounties on the heads of American soldiers. Donald Trump had talked at least six times to Vladimir Putin and never brought up the subject.

PENCE: My son is in captain in the United States Marine Corps. My son-in-law's deployed in the United States Navy. I can assure all of you with sons and daughters serving in our military, President Donald Trump, not only respects, but reveres all of those who serve in our armed forces and any suggestion, otherwise is ridiculous. Let me also say the American people deserve to know-

John Curtis: Gaza peace is possible, like Israel-Egypt in 1979

Curtis went on a tour of the Middle East last week, trying to help find a way to end the war between Israel and Hamas.

In an interview with the Deseret News, the GOP congressman revealed the tough conversations he had about the war, his fears of an escalation, and his hopes for a long-lasting ceasefire.

During his visit, Curtis said he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Jordan's King Abdullah, Egyptian President al-Sisi, and officials from Qatar.

But is a ceasefire possible? Curtis said it is, before reflecting on the monumental solutions toward peace Israel and its neighbors have achieved in the past.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and former U.S. President Jimmy Carter signed the Camp David Accords, a historical peace treaty, in 1979. At the time, Curtis recalled, "Everybody said that could never be done. And I do like to point out that ... this is one of those moments where everybody has to find a path forward."
