David Zuckerman:
Support new affordable housing, improve existing homes
We must ensure that all Vermonters have access to safe, healthy, affordable housing. Almost one quarter of our housing stock is more than 80 years old. We must support the creation of new affordable housing at the local level as well as improvements
to our existing homes. This investment will create good-paying jobs all around the state, improve energy efficiency, reduce housing expenses for hardworking Vermonters, and ensure a safe and healthy environment for younger and older Vermonters.

$35 million housing bond for full spectrum of housing
We need direct investment in economic development activities that will produce results. At the core of my proposal is a $35 million housing bond, in partnership with the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board.
VHCB will lead an effort to expand housing across the full spectrum--from homeless populations to home ownership for middle-income families.

Rebecca Holcombe:
Target investment at affordable homes & rentals
When our communities are healthy, happy, and strong, they become attractive places for people to live and for business to prosper. I will:- Target investment at inclusive and affordable homes and rentals in walkable downtowns.
- Address rising
costs of healthcare, because we cannot afford to wait for national solutions.
- Ensure equitable access to education and childcare.
- Facilitate statewide dialogue on supporting people of color and members of the immigrant & refugee community.

Phil Scott:
Housing is key; remove impediments to growth
The fact is, Act 250 did exactly what it was intended to do. It slowed down growth, and in some cases, stopped it altogether. But it was enacted at a time when we were growing way too fast. Today we face a different reality--one where families
desperately need homes, and communities need reinvestment. Housing is key, and it's something we can do right now. So let's work together and get more families in homes faster, and at a cost they can afford.

Historical redlining perpetuates wealth inequality
David Zuckerman- Supports bias training for all educators, state employees and law enforcement.
- Wants to assess the state's economic development policies and determine whether Vermont is perpetuating wealth inequality brought on by historical
systems like redlining.
Brenda Siegel
- Supports policies that would diversify workplaces, both in state government and the nonprofit sector.
Scott Milne
- Doesn't support any specific policies that relate to racial justice.
Rebecca Holcombe
- Expand race data collection across government sectors, to identify bias and assess its impact. The data will inform policy action.
- Implement widespread bias training for state employees.
Phil Scott
- Wants to continue ongoing racial justice efforts.
- Looks forward to reviewing recommendations from a Racial Equity Task Force, which he created earlier this year.

Esther Charlestin:
Support Act 250: more affordable homes
Vermont's housing crisis is constantly on my mind, and it is an issue I feel must be attacked from multiple angles. First, we need to build more affordable homes.
Plain and simple. And updating Act 250's land use policy to allow for the construction of more affordable homes was the kind of bipartisan compromise I would champion if elected, rather than vetoing it as Gov. Scott did.
Second, we need to increase aid for low and middle income residents to purchase, rent, and keep homes. This means looking at inclusionary zoning,
supporting housing first models, implementing rental and second home taxes, and increasing urban density.

Gerald Malloy:
Reckless "stimulus" caused a self-inflicted recession
Q: ECONOMY: Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes?A: Strongly Disagree: America needs a limited government with less regulation, supporting an open market and the opportunity for economic
prosperity for all, while providing just enough order to enable all Americans to enjoy the rights of the Constitution.
Q: The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt?
A: Strongly Agree. Yes, the reckless overspending and "stimulus" of the Biden Democrat Administration is the reason we are experiencing 40 year high inflation and are about to enter a recession - self inflicted.
Q: What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?
A: Extend the 2017 TCJA that overall has, per the IRS, not just my opinion, reduced taxes for the working class of Americans.
