Open markets help farmers
Highlighting her belief that more open markets are needed to help promote U.S. food and agricultural products, Veneman was actively involved in the Uruguay Round of GATT negotiations, NAFTA, and the U.S.-Canada Free Trade Agreement.
Secretary Veneman also made it a priority to expand global opportunities for California agriculture.
