Stephen Johnson on Budget & Economy

Director of the E.P.A.

Approves EPA cuts in 2006 Budget, to protect competitiveness

The President’s FY 2006 budget request of $7.6 billion reflects a strong commitment to protect health and safeguard the environment. The Budget includes more than 150 reductions, reforms, and terminations in non-defense discretionary programs, of which four affect EPA. This budget supports the Administration’s commitment to environmental results by identifying new and better ways to carry out EPA’s mission while protecting our national competitiveness.
