Thomas Perez on Budget & Economy

6 years of steady job growth, but not nearly enough

Perez fiercely defends President Obama's economic record. The U.S. just marked 6 years--72 months--of consecutive private sector job growth. But we asked him about concerns over stagnant wages: "We're making progress, and the unfinished business is making sure that the wind that's at our back results in shared prosperity for everyone," Secretary Perez said. "We've seen some wage growth in the last year, but not nearly enough."
