No federal money for education, and no federal rules
The Federal Government gets a failing grade in education. Only 7 cents out of every $1 spent in public schools comes from the federal government. Yet the federal government imposes the lion’s share of mandates and regulations and strings. Federal
involvement makes things worse. Per pupil costs are three times what they were before federal involvement. Illiteracy rates keep going up. Public high school dropout rates keep going up. Test scores are down.
We need to get the federal government completely out of education. The Constitution gives no authority to the federal government to be involved in education. Carla Howell will vote to immediately end all
federal involvement in education. No federal money. No federal rules. No federal mandates. No federal programs.

Federal government out of education
Seven cents out of every school dollar spent in Massachusetts comes from the federal government, but they impose the lion’s share of mandates and regulations and strings. The Constitution does not authorize the federal government
to involve itself in education in any way, shape or form. Federal involvement makes things worse. Our illiteracy rates keep going up, our dropout rates keep going up. We need to get the federal government completely out of education.

$10,000 “voucher” via ending income tax
The average taxpayer spends $10,000 each year in federal Income Taxes. Imagine a federal government so small it didn’t need your $10,000 each year. Imagine a federal government that left $10,000 in your pocket every year. What kind of an
education could you fund for your children with over $10,000 each year? Would you home school your children? Send them to a private or parochial school? Or pool your savings with other like-minded parents and support a school that lets your children
thrive?
And you could do all of this without begging some federal or state bureaucrat for a Voucher. Without groveling for permission to educate your children in your values. Ending the personal Income Tax is the only program that lets you write
your own Vouchers, your own way, according to your own personal and spiritual values.
