Eradicate marijuana plants statewide

Support the State Police's marijuana eradication efforts which experienced a record year in 2009. Enforcement efforts led to the destruction of 223,427 plants statewide along with an additional 1,374 plants grown indoors.
Since 2005, felony arrests have continued to rise as a result of his dedication to combating the drug problem and creating a safer environment.
The State Police Drug Diversion Unit was created to combat the illegal distribution of prescription pain medication.

$1M more for crackdown on drugs

During the past year, as a result of our renewed commitment to eliminate illegal drug traffic in WV, we have taken more than $5.7 million in illegal drugs out of our state’s communities and off of our streets! The WV State Police will move forward with the next phase in its statewide crackdown on illegal drugs as my $1 million budget commitment kicks in. I will ensure illegal drug manufacturers & users are put on notice that this state won’t stand idly by while they destroy more communities & families. Declare war on meth & dangerous make-shift labs

It is long past time for us to put an end to the creation and use of meth labs. Not only do these volatile and often crude labs create illegal and highly addictive drugs, they endanger our towns and put at risk the lives of all law enforcement personnel. They are also impacting the lives of our children with disastrous results. Therefore, I will propose legislation that will limit access to key ingredients used in the production of methamphetamines. Similar legislation in Oklahoma has already reduced the number of meth labs in that state by over 60 percent. For the sake of our families and our children, I am putting meth users on notice tonight that we are going to declare war on this drug and the dangerous, make-shift meth labs that are too often leading to tragedy.
