Making the tax cuts permanent will benefit American workers

The tax cuts passed by Congress in December of 2017 are creating jobs and putting money directly in the pockets of American workers. In Congress, I will fight to make these tax cuts permanent. [Wikipedia describes the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 as "reducing tax rates for businesses and individuals; a personal tax simplification by increasing the standard deduction and family tax credits, but eliminating personal exemptions and making it less beneficial to itemize deductions]. Voted yes to cut taxes for top 1%

[Opponent Jess] King released a commercial of her own called "Working for Us": "Representative Smucker passed a huge tax giveaway for big corporations". While he didn't pass it himself, Smucker did vote 'yea' on 2017's Republican Tax Overhaul bill which would give the country's top 1% tens of thousands of dollars in tax cuts, according to the Tax Policy Center. Project Vote Smart inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Budget: In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?' PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
