Chairman of the Salomon Smith Barney International Advisory Board. Previous Office: Elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois in 1960s. Member of the President Nixon's Cabinet (1969-1970). Ambassador to NATO in Brussels, Belgium (1973-1974). Chief of Staff & Secretary of Defense under President Ford. Education: He attended Princeton University on scholarship (AB, 1954) Birthplace: Chicago, Illinois, 1932 Spouse: Married in 1954, he and his wife Joyce have three children and five grandchildren. Mrs. Rumsfeld was the founding Chairman of the Chicago Foundation for Education. Military: Served in the U.S. Navy (1954-57) as a Naval aviator and was All Navy Wrestling Champion. |
