Expanded internet to 50,000+ new households, businesses

When I got into office, Kansas was way behind the eight ball on broadband development. The state had no roadmap, no funding, and no plan. So, we established the Office of Broadband Development, and now, we have expanded internet access to over 50,000 new households and businesses. We've connected rural communities that were frustrated for years by the lack of access. We won't stop until every Kansan who wants, or needs, high-speed Internet has access to it. Established Kansas's Office of Broadband Development

I signed an Executive Order establishing Kansas's first Office of Broadband Development--and through it, we've distributed nearly 50 million dollars in Connectivity Emergency Response Grants, to communities like Spring Hill, Valley Center, Dodge City, Topeka, Derby and others.

We have to keep pushing on this issue. It needs to be a bi-partisan push. Because access to high speed internet will be a game changer for these communities.

Invest in rural highway and digital infrastructure needs

In order to support and enhance the economic climate in Kansas, Laura Kelly will prioritize investment in roads and other infrastructure needs. She will work with our local communities to make roads in urban areas the best they can be to support area businesses, expand 4-lane highways in rural areas, and improve the digital infrastructure in Kansas (including broadband).
