Stephen Fincher on Social Security

No privatization; keep contract with seniors

Some have suggested balancing the books on the backs of our seniors. I won't stand for it. Social Security and Medicare are contracts made with our seniors--we must keep our promises and commitments to older Americans.

I oppose privatization of Social Security. We can preserve the system and ensure its long-term viability without resorting to such a drastic step. Growing our economy is the soundest way to fund the needs of Social Security and Medicare in the future.

Fincher opposes the CC survey question on private retirement accounts

The Christian Coalition voter guide [is] one of the most powerful tools Christians have ever had to impact our society during elections. This simple tool has helped educate tens of millions of citizens across this nation as to where candidates for public office stand on key faith and family issues.

The CC survey summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Allowing individuals to invest a portion of their Social Security tax in private retirement accounts"
