Tom Sullivan on Abortion |
A: Yes.
Q: Should abortion be legal only within the first trimester of pregnancy?
A: Yes.
Q: Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
A: Yes.
Q: Should federal subsidies be prohibited from being used for abortion procedures?
A: Yes.
Sullivan adds, "Abortion is a difficult and painful decision for a woman to make. It is a decision only she can make, based on the dictates of her own conscience and faith, not on the dictate's of someone else's. But except under exceptional circumstances, such as rape, incest or danger to her health, she should make that decision as early as she can, so she is not aborting a fetus that is increasingly becoming more like a person. Difficult decisions should be made by an individual based upon their faith. Government should not step into people's private lives."
