Gloria Negrete McLeod on Homeland Security
As a State Legislator, I have authored many bills that help our state soldiers, the National Guard. One such bill I introduced and passed in the State Senate was SB 1413, helping promote support programs for the National Guard. I will not cut veterans services, and will have the same commitment to Veterans issues in the Federal Government as I have had in State Government.
For military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, I will work to expand job-training opportunities to give these young men and women the opportunity to earn a good living in private sector industries like biotech and environmental technologies. I will also work to enhance medical and psychological treatments and services for our returning veterans who need these services.
