$200M to bring Internet to low-income libraries

The Bill and Melinda Gates Learning Foundation has a program that has pledged about $200 million to bring computers, training, and Internet access to public libraries in low-income neighborhoods across the country. It is known as the Gates Library Initiative and thus far has worked with more than 1,600 libraries. A second program is an Education Initiative to explore innovative ways to best use technology in kindergarten through 12th-grade education.
