Michael Nutter on Education

Public & private schools collaborate for student success

All of our schools--public, private, charter and parochial--need to work together to ensure that we are providing high-quality, diverse educational options that meet the needs of our student population. The agreement between the School District and our charter schools will provide unprecedented cooperation as they create equivalent metrics to measure student achievement and school performance.

Vigilant innovativion to improve our educational system

Education is the key to ensuring Philadelphians have a high quality of life. Education impacts so many aspects of our lives--health, finances, family, crime--that it is important that we encourage young people, as well as returning students, to succeed in school and continue on to college. We must be innovative and vigilant regarding ways to improve our educational system and to ensure our children are afforded every opportunity to learn.
