Buddy Carter on Homeland Security

Stand up for our military bases

Standing Up for Our Military Bases and Military Families: As our Congressman Buddy Carter will seek to serve on the House Armed Services Committee and be a strong advocate for our military bases in the First Congressional District.

Hunter Army Airfield, Fort Stewart, Moody Air Force Base & Kings Bay Base deserve a dedicated congressman working on their behalf. These bases are essential to our national security and have a major economic impact on the local communities that have supported them.

No NSA surveillance of law-abiding Americans

Privacy and the NSA: Abuses by government happen when there is no transparency or when there are insufficient checks and balances from our citizenry. Law abiding Americans have a right to assume that they are not under surveillance by government in the privacy of their own home. From their telephone calls to social media to tax returns, law abiding Americans have a Constitutional right to not be investigated or searched without cause.

Primary federal role is strong military

Question topic: The US must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Carter: Strongly Agree

Question topic: Briefly list political issues of most concern to you.

Carter: The primary role of the federal government is to keep its citizens safe by way of a strong military. In Congress, I will support legislation that will keep our military strong and provide the necessary resources to our troops in harm's way.
