Provide true cost of products, including environmental cost
Q: How would you balance environmental protection against free market economics?A: Voodoo economics is the standard in the USA, rather than True Cost Economics. Within our present corrupt system, the US Government has been bribed to validate a
predatory capitalist system that concentrates profit and externalizes cost to the public and to future generations. It is the educated public that guide markets, not the government, but the government--if it were honest--would have a role to play
in supporting an app that allows every citizen to scan a bar code and immediate see the true cost of any product.
Q: You mean that "true cost" would include environmental costs?
A: The true cost of any product
[includes the] amount of virtual water, fuel consumed over life cycle, toxins emitted, [as wellas non-environmental costs such as] hours of child labor, and degree of tax avoidance through fraud.
