State of Missouri secondary Archives: on Government Reform
Mark McClosky:
Let states require proof of citizenship to register to vote
- Require all voters to show photographic ID at the polling place or send photocopies of their ID when submitting an absentee ballot.
- Amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to clarify that states may require proof of citizenship to
register to vote.
- Allow state election officials to verify voter's identification by opening up the DHS database to verify citizenship.
- Reject any effort by Democrats to get rid of the Electoral College that our Founding Fathers implemented.

Tim Shepard:
In order to restore democracy, we all must be represented
We need to make it easier for every American to vote. Many people aren't represented because of misguided and even hostile systems that disenfranchise poor Americans. The result has been to suppress many people's ability to vote,
which results in significant losses to the community and the economy. In order to restore democracy, we all must be represented.

Tim Shepard:
We need to fix our campaign finance system
To restore democracy, we need to fix our campaign finance system. Contribution limits at the PAC and Super-PAC level are critical to ensure that the voice of ordinary Americans has equal weight with millionaires and billionaires.
This way, no matter what level of wealth you've achieved, you're guaranteed equal representation.

Trudy Busch Valentine:
Voting should be as easy and accessible as possible
Trudy will vote for and champion legislation like the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act in the Senate. Trudy will also tirelessly work to fight back against anti-democratic bills that would make it harder to vote or that would
disenfranchise groups of Americans. Trudy believes that voting should be as easy and accessible as possible to all eligible, and she will work to invest more resources into local elections offices.

Trudy Busch Valentine:
Overturn Citizens United; require donor disclosure
Government should be held accountable for delivering real results, and that starts with electing leaders who hold themselves to the highest standards of ethics and moral values. Trudy will hold corporations accountable, stand up to big money in
politics, and put people first. Trudy will lead efforts on campaign finance reform including overturning the Citizens United ruling, restoring congressional oversight of money in politics, and requiring donor disclosure for dark money groups.
