Gary Johnson: Endorsed by Rand Paul; asks Dem to drop out of Senate race

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is endorsing fellow libertarian former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson in his Senate bid in the state. Paul is throwing his weight behind Johnson, instead of his Republican competitor Mick Rich, the Kentucky senator announced in a news release.

Johnson's supporters have been pressuring Rich to drop out of the race against Democratic Sen. Martin Heinrich. Tuesday is the final day for candidates to withdraw their names from the general election ballot. As fellow libertarians, Paul and Johnson share similar sentiments on limited government.

An Emerson College e-poll conducted with a small sample size of 500 registered voters showed Johnson leading Rich among Republicans.

Johnson led a failed campaign for president in the 2016 election, earning him big name recognition, and previously served as New Mexico's governor in the late '90s and early 2000s.

Gavin Clarkson: Had to prove New Mexico is a state to get married

A groom encountered a surprising snag when trying to get a marriage license in D.C.: A clerk told him his New Mexico identification wasn't acceptable because it was from outside the United States. "She was so sincere. She said, 'I'm sorry, my supervisor says we can't accept international driver's licenses,'" recounted Gavin Clarkson, who went to get a license with his now-wife, Marina, at the D.C. Marriage Bureau. He said the clerk was embarrassed and apologetic once the matter was straightened out. "My supervisor and I have verified that New Mexico is a state," Gavin Clarkson said he was told after the geographic faux pas

Gavin Clarkson: Democratic processes can include voices of religious people

Q: Do you promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles?

A: Yes.

Q: What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

A: It means the federal government cannot restrict religious liberty. It does not mean our legal code must be devoid of any moral principles or that our democratic processes shouldn't include the voices of religious people.

Jay Block: Leaders must speak out against wrongdoing, show up to vote

Q: What qualities make you a better candidate than your opponent?

Block: Leadership. I have defended this country as a military officer for over two decades. I am the only candidate to call for a current commissioner to resign who is under felony indictments for domestic violence. I supported the budget increase for our fire department. I supported the $50 billion industrial revenue bond for economic development. Leaders must speak out against wrongdoing and show up to vote.

Mark Ronchetti: Senator should put the people of New Mexico first

Mark will support leaders from either party who have an idea or policy that can benefit the people of New Mexico. That's why he has supported President Trump's efforts to rebuild our military bases in New Mexico, grow our energy economy that has led to more funding for our schools, and bring federal muscle to fight crime in Albuquerque. Mark believes you should never hate your political opponents more than you love New Mexico. We must elect a Senator who will put the people of New Mexico first.

Mark Ronchetti: Hate for opponents can't be stronger than love of New Mexico

On partisanship: "New Mexicans are fed up with the petty partisan politics that has gotten in the way of progress for New Mexicans," Ronchetti said in a separate statement. "Hatred for your political opponents can never be stronger than your love of New Mexico--when it is, nobody wins."

Mark Ronchetti: America the greatest nation on Earth, not afraid to say so

Ad Watch on Ronchetti's first TV ad: "I believe in our New Mexico values of faith, family and freedom, and they are under attack. DC has failed us and I believe it is up to us to turn it around. I believe small businesses built this country and its small businesses that will bring us back. I believe politicians aren't taking crime seriously and I will never support defunding the police. I approve this message because I believe America is the greatest nation on Earth and I'm not afraid to say so."

Michelle Lujan-Grisham: Twelfth-generation New Mexican

Michelle Lujan Grisham is a proud Democrat who is running for Congress in New Mexico's First District to fix our economy, restore trust in government, and improve the lives of all New Mexicans.

Public service comes easily to Michelle, a twelfth generation New Mexican who has dedicated her life to serving her community, fighting for seniors and building an economy that works for all New Mexicans.

Michelle Lujan-Grisham: Government isn't a competition; we're all on the same team

I know there is a temptation to view today as the opening kickoff of a big game, or the launch of some great battle. Some will describe it that way. But I encourage you to do what you can to resist the perception of a "competition," to avoid feeding a plotline that would pit one team against another. This isn't the sports page. We're all here to do the people's business. It's a sacred thing. And we're all on the same team today--and in fact every day.

Rebecca Dow: Built "Save Our Western Way of Life" PAC

To help push back on the far left's radical agenda, Rebecca built a coalition dubbed the "Save Our Western Way of Life" PAC. This group is comprised of law enforcement, ag producers, outfitters and guides, and hardworking New Mexicans to elect, pro-liberty candidates for office. Building this coalition is just one of the numerous ways Rebecca fought for our values in New Mexico. She has been instrumental in recruiting candidates with these values to run for state and local office.

Steve Pearce: Biblical values important for government

Pearce became the first U.S. Congressman to address the Belarusian Parliament and he talked about a subject that would have been forbidden in this former Communist country only a few short years ago-- the Holy Bible and its role in the founding of the United States. Pearce is a leading Congressional Sponsor of Capitol Ministries in Washington DC.
