For grazing & ethanol; against Kyoto treaty

Bauer supports the following principles concerning environmental issues:
• Waive environmental review requirements for grazing permits.
• Require states to fully compensate citizens when environmental regulations limit uses of privately-owned land.
• Encourage further development and use of alternative fuels to reduce pollution.
• Support the use of ethanol as an alternative fuel.
• Does not support the UN Kyoto Conference treaty regarding global climate change.

Continue ethanol subsidy; find other uses for ag products

For price reporting; tax-free farm accounts; livestock ins.

We should enable farmers to equip themselves for unexpected disasters and sporadic markets via:
• Requiring mandatory price reporting by meat packers so that every livestock producer will have access to markets and contracting information to plan effectively for the future.
• Allowing farmers to contribute up to 20% of their taxable income into a tax-deferred, interest-bearing account for up to five years
• Extending federally backed insurance to livestock producers, as well as crops.
