During one of her first cabinet meetings as mayor in 2018, she met with her department heads, nearly all of whom were holdovers from the Reed administration. It quickly became clear that the new sheriff in town was not like the old one. "If I tell you to jump off a bridge, don't just do it," she said, according to an official who was there.
