Fifth-generation Coloradan; ranch in San Luis Valley
The fifth-generation Coloradan, whose family has long operated a ranch in the San Luis Valley, was elected twice as the state's attorney general and served four years in the U.S. Senate before stepping down to join the incoming
Obama administration in 2009. He ran the Department of the Interior through former President Barack Obama's first term and then returned to Colorado, where he joined international law firm WilmerHale as a partner.

Kerry is somebody who I support
Q: Are you running away from John Kerry? A: I’m not running away from John Kerry. John Kerry is a person who has done a lot for this country, who has served this country with distinction. He is somebody who I support.
I will campaign with him in
Colorado when he comes, but I’m not going to change my schedule just because there happens to be a candidate that comes into the state of Colorado. You know, this race has been a seven-month race between Pete and me. We have a very, very heavy schedule.

Endorsed by MoveOn, for moderate progressive principles.
Salazar is endorsed by by MoveOn.org, a progressive PAC
MoveOn is working to bring ordinary people back into politics. With a system that today revolves around big money and big media, most citizens are left out. When it becomes clear that our "representatives" don't represent the public, the foundations of democracy are in peril. MoveOn is a catalyst for a new kind of grassroots involvement, supporting busy but concerned citizens in finding their political voice.
Many of our current national leaders actively disregard public opinion and common sense, recklessly placing the interests of their big-money donors ahead of the good of our society. For these politicians, our only alternative is electoral action. It's time for a change in leadership. We need more new talent and new vision.
MoveOn PAC’s nationwide network of more than 2,000,000 online activists provides financial support to congressional candidates who embrace moderate to progressive principles of national government.
