Remove cap on earnings to sustain system

Believes the Social Security trust fund should be off limits to funding other things, such as the war in Iraq. Believes the system should be sustained, and supports removing the cap on earnings subject to social security taxes. Has reservations about raising the retirement age because it would penalize those who are unable to work beyond the age of 66. Don't return to fears of being too old or too ill

Maine has one of the highest populations of veterans in the United States. In order for our nation to be strong, we rely on the devoted service of our men and women in uniform. When they return to civilian life, they often carry with them the scars of battle or return needing new skills to transition to new careers. My family has had a proud service record to this nation.
