Jacqueline Coleman on Jobs

Lack of women in management and leadership positions

The obstacles that women in Kentucky have experienced in the past year are the same obstacles that our leaders and our society have failed to address for generations. So, in addition to the fact that women experience pay inequity, we have what we call 'child care deserts' in Kentucky; not everybody has equitable access to child care. There's also a lack of women--and especially women of color--in management and leadership positions. It's been that way. This is not something that's new to us.
