Ned Lamont on Corporations

Democratic Challenger

Brings real business experience that government needs

I believe Washington needs creative solutions to old problems. I am an entrepreneur who has built a successful business from scratch. More than 20 years ago, I founded a company that competes successfully against cable conglomerates. I am running with the support of Connecticut citizens, not corporate or special interests - and I bring real business experience that government needs.

Bankruptcy reform for corporations, not individuals

Most people that file for bankruptcy are not overspending on their credit cards, but are inflicted with sudden health care expenses, and they are underinsured. We ought to help people through that tragic time in their lives, not penalize them. On the flip side, I look at how the corporations in this country are abusing bankruptcy and using it to walk away from their pensions, to walk away from their obligations to the working people out there. If you want bankruptcy reform, that's where I'd start.
