Need to do more at federal level to address mental health

Furthermore, we need to have a real discussion about mental health policy. I sat next to a local representative on a flight 18 months ago and was proud to hear of his work on establishing a nationwide three-digit hotline for suicide prevention. It helped me recognize the good our Congress can do when we work together. We need to reverse the stigma and provide useful tools for families and schools to better identify warning signs of mental health.

Replace Obama Care with market-driven health care

We need to cut the fat within our healthcare system. I will work to replace the Affordable Care Act with a market-driven solution that gives more flexibility to the states and focuses on the following three pillars:
  1. improve choices and lower costs, while protecting vulnerable Americans;
  2. give flexibility and resources to states to achieve those goals; and
  3. ensure people can opt into the private coverage of their choice.
