Fix ACA rather than just scrapping it

Ben supports allowing parents to keep their kids on their policies until they are 26. He will oppose allowing insurance companies to kick people off for pre-existing conditions or charge women higher premiums. Ben will work to ensure people aren't punished for getting a raise, throwing them off their health care coverage. Ben supports efforts to ensure Medicare can negotiate with drug companies.

All Utah families deserve access to quality, affordable health care. Ben supported the Healthy Utah plan, which would have responsibly expanded Medicaid coverage under the Affordable Care Act to thousands of Utahns without health insurance. After efforts stalled, Ben worked across the aisle to pass a permanent extension of Medicaid to include single adults who are homeless or in the criminal justice system and low-income families with children.

Fix problems with ObamaCare; protect Medicare and CHIP

BEN MCADAMS: To ensure that everyone has access to affordable, quality health care, I support fixing the problems with the Affordable Care Act, actually selling health insurance across state lines, holding pharmaceutical companies accountable on drug pricing, and exploring the creation of a reinsurance program to lower the rates and protect our most vulnerable. In addition to all that, I think it is important that we pursue innovation. We should explore paying health care providers for quality of care, rather than the number of procedures ordered. I will protect Medicare for the seniors who have earned this benefit. I support the Children's Health Insurance program for those low-income families who either cannot afford or are not offered health insurance for their children. I support the Medicaid program for the poor and the disabled, as well as for pregnant mothers and their children.
