Applauds EPA funding to protect Nevada's surface water

Cortez Masto applauded the Environmental Protection Agency for awarding $20.6 million in State Revolving Funds to Nevada to support infrastructure projects that protect surface water and provide safe drinking water. "We're glad to see these funds made available for improvements to water systems all over the Silver State. Everyone in Nevada deserves clean drinking water and reliable water infrastructure, and we'll keep working in the U.S. Senate to ensure that's the case." Endorsed by League of Conservation Voters

The League of Conservation Voters' (LCV) political arm is endorsing Nevada Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen's bid to topple Republican Sen. Dean Heller.

The early endorsement is a signal that Rosen will continue to draw major liberal power-players to the closely watched race. "In Congress and as a community leader, Jacky Rosen has been a strong supporter of investing in clean energy and protecting Nevada's parks and monuments," said the LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. "Rosen has only been in Congress since January, but the endorsement is a sign of her previous legislative record. The LCV applauds her stance against reopening the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste facility and cites her support for other pro- environment legislation as well.

The LCV's support for Rosen could turn into financial gain, as the group will help to direct supporters to donate to her campaign. The LCV helped channel six-figure donations to 10 separate Senate candidates last year.

EPA should rely on facts, not fake news

Members of the House of Representative Committee on Science, Space & Technology--including representative Jacky Rosen (NV)--have signed a letter to President Trump expressing concern over the President's methods of receiving scientific information. The letter states that by failing to appoint a qualified director to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy or adequately staff the department, the President has left himself vulnerable to "misinformation and fake news."
