Bob Tingle on Energy & Oil

Republican Senate Challenger (RI)

All-of-the-above approach to energy & alternatives

Q: Do you support the statement, "Replace coal and oil with alternatives"?

A: I support an all of the above approach, gradually shifting away from fossil fuels to renewable energies, to solving our national energy crisis with the exception of nuclear energy. I do not support the expansion of nuclear energy.

Drill here and drill now

On Energy Policy: We need to make ourselves independent of foreign sources of energy A.S.A.P. I support drilling for oil in A.N.W.R. and on the outer continental shelf. We also need to develop alternative sources of energy like solar, wind, hydrogen fuel cells, clean coal and hybrid technologies, just to name a few. The answer for the short term is to DRILL HERE and DRILL NOW !!! ( in an environmentally friendly way, of course !! ) We have plenty of oil and natural gas right here in the U.S.A.

Drill ANWR, but no nuclear power

On energy, he said, "we need to make ourselves independent of foreign sources of energy as quickly as possible. In the short run, we need to increase domestic oil production by opening up ANWR and our offshore oil reserves to drilling in an environmentally responsible way. In the long run we need to develop alternative sources of energy like solar, wind, hydrogen fuel cell, bio-fuels and clean coal technology." And added he is "opposed to the expansion of nuclear energy."
