Dave Curson on Tax Reform

Wealthiest Americans should pay their fair share

Tax fairness should be a priority. It is unconscionable that companies like General Electric paid no income tax last year and the wealthiest American's pay a lesser tax rate than the average working man and woman. How can we continue to justify such unfair tax loopholes? Those wealthiest Americans and multinational corporations should pay their fair share and middle class Americans should receive the tax cut they deserve. Today the tax burden lies squarely on the back of the dwindling middle class and that is just wrong.

The rich argue that the tax cuts should be extended to the 'job creators'. Well the rich have enjoyed those tax breaks since the Reagan era and how are they doing in job creation? They put their money in offshore accounts and create jobs in foreign countries by outsourcing American jobs.

The real job creators are America's small business. Focus should be directed on real tax reform for small business owners, particularly those that actually do create jobs.
