Replace IRS with excise tax and tax on states, not people
In 1913, the ratification of the sixteenth amendment allowing a tax on income dealt two major blows against personal liberty. First, it provided the government with an unlimited source of revenue to fuel its lust for power. Second, , the full force of
the federal government could be unleashed, via the IRS, against individuals who dared to question its policies. The tax system is no longer designed to simply fund the government. It's designed to control.
Most people recognize that the current
Income tax system is wrong. A few alternatives have been suggested including the Flat Tax and/or a National Sales Tax, but both would fail. The problem lies in the fundamental flaw of allowing the federal government to directly tax individual.
The framers of the constitution wisely chose to fund the government through Indirect taxes, consisting of "Duties, Imposts, and Excises" If additional funding was required, the original constitution provides the ability to directly tax the states.
