Rashida Tlaib on Foreign Policy

Endorsed by Foreign Policy for America for world engagement

[ElectronicIntifada.net reports that] Tlaib has received the endorsement of Foreign Policy for America, a political action committee that backs sanctions on Russia, the US "commitment to NATO" and other policies favored by Democratic elites. Foreign Policy for America calls for arms sales to Saudi Arabia to be conditional "on steps to prevent civilian casualties and alleviate humanitarian suffering in Yemen." That is a laudable view, but the group makes no similar call regarding Israel--the biggest recipient of US military aid.

[The PAC describes themselves on their website FP4America.org as] "it's time for a new conversation about American engagement in the world. We're fighting for policies that keep us safe and out of conflicts and are true to our highest values. We engage, connect, and support citizens to champion principles American engagement in the world. Through the FP4America Action Network, we support our members to impact elections through phone banking, canvassing, and fundraising."

PVS:Don't use military to prevent nuclear proliferation.

Tlaib opposes the PVS survey question on barring hostile nukes

Project Vote Smart inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'National Security: Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?' PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
