Joe DioGuardi on Health Care

Purpose of reform should have been to reduce the cost
Gillibrand said she's concerned about insurance companies raising premiums before the changes kick in. "It doesn't really start until 2014, and I will tell you many insurers have raised their rates," Gillibrand said. "I want a full investigation."
DioGuardi said the health care law should be repealed and restructured to rein in spending. "The whole purpose of health care reform should have been to reduce the cost of health care," he said. "It did not."

Reduce government involvement in healthcare
I believe that all Americans deserve access to quality healthcare. Unfortunately, Washington is currently focused on the wrong problem. Instead of legislating coverage, Washington should deal with the real problem: the high cost of healthcare.
Government should reduce its involvement in healthcare and push the private sector to be more competitive and to promote a system that emphasizes disease prevention and wellness. These measures will bring healthcare costs down to affordable levels.

Opposes government-run healthcare.
DioGuardi opposes the CC survey question on government-run healthcare
The Christian Coalition voter guide [is] one of the most powerful tools Christians have ever had to impact our society during elections. This simple tool has helped educate tens of millions of citizens across this nation as to where candidates for public office stand on key faith and family issues.
The CC survey summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Federal government run health care system"
