Activist Cristina Tzintzun Ramirez said she would work with grass-roots groups like March for Our Lives and Moms Demand Action to bring to break the gridlock in Washington, noting that the American people were behind various gun control proposals.

She said the fight against gun violence was the No. 1 issue of her Cristina believes our representatives should fight for victims of gun violence and their families, and Texans that are demanding change, and not the NRA. Cristina has endorsed the Peace Plan for a Safer America. Cristina will advocate for gun legislation that the majority of Americans support, including universal background checks, banning and buying back assault weapons like AR-15s and AK-47s, and holding the gun lobby accountable for the harm they have done to our communities.

Ban assault weapons, with mandatory buyback

Cristina Tzintzun Ramirez rejected Hegar's stance. "Without a mandatory buyback program, we're leaving weapons of war in our communities. That's a recipe for violence," she argued on Twitter. "Our children's lives are on the line. This isn't a time for political caution."
