Affirmative action ok, but without requirement

Q: Do you support or oppose requiring companies to hire more women & minorities?

A: Oppose. I believe that basic affirmative action premises such as hiring women and minorities when all else is equal is appropriate to try to compensate for prior societal inequities. But 'require' is too strong a word.
