Kevin Hern on Welfare & Poverty

Stop incentivizing dependency on government welfare

Q: What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

A: As a person who grew up in extreme poverty, I have seen the damage that perpetual handouts do to families. We need to stop incentivizing individuals from being dependent to government welfare. The best social program is a job. I have BS in Engineering and an MBA. I have spent a lifetime as a small businessman, creating jobs and employing thousands of Americans over the past 25 years. I have owned, or currently own businesses in the restaurant, banking, manufacturing, home building, publishing, and technology sectors. As person who always gets paid last and signs both sides of the paycheck, nothing prepares you better to understand what taxes need to be reformed and what regulations need to be cut.
