Mike Braun on Technology

Companies should pay for their own power for data centers

Let's talk about data centers. Hoosiers are concerned about their electricity rates going up to pay for them. AI is going to be key to the jobs of the future, but data centers can't stick Hoosiers with the power bill. Companies that want big power in Indiana should pay their own way. For example, Amazon is building a $15 billion dollar data center in northwest Indiana. They're going to pay for every cent of their new power needs, and then some.

Increase gas tax by 10 cents for crumbling infrastructure

During his time at the Statehouse, the Legislature approved a road funding bill that increased gas tax 10 cents a gallon--a move Braun's opponents have criticized him for. Braun stands by the decision. "When your overpasses are falling in and your main charge as a representative is to do something about it, I think it was clear," he said. He's proud of his role in passing a regional infrastructure bill that gives local governments another tool for funding projects.

CC:Secure the grid against terrorism.

Braun supports the CC survey question on securing the grid

The Christian Coalition Voter Guide inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Take federal action to secure the grid against foreign/terrorist interference ' Christian Coalition's self-description: "Christian Voter Guide is a clearing-house for traditional, pro-family voter guides. We do not create voter guides, nor do we interview or endorse candidates."
